What's the business model around this? Why would I buy Hades or Zelda SS HD through Best Buy's store and not Nintendo's store.

I take it that it's probably advertising? or getting customers through existing retailers?

Only reason i can think of, no space at home for physical media, and doesnt have a credit card to buy online

I'm sure it made more sense when Gamer's Club Unlocked was still a thing.
Even now, it's possible to have a store credit card or other credit card that gives a higher % cash back for Best Buy purchases than if you by from Nintendo's eshop.
But yeah, I just buy from the actual e-store...

If you have store credit, it's another option to buy the game, rather than buying digital credit and having some left over. And some stores won't let you buy digital credit with store credit at all.

Maybe buying it as a gift for someone whos rather have the digital version of the game. That way, you could buy it for them to give. Or without having to enter you credit card information into the switch

I think they are for very specific things most of the time, though
