There wasn't any real hype tbh. There just surge in talk about it after a bunch of people who had no idea what it was watched it and encountered the goblin rape

The show itself is a generic shallow story about one thing which it explains in the title. The author knew how generic it was which is why the characters don't even have real names. The only thing that separates it from other stuff is the rape which is played as part fanservice and that in itself is just dumb and creepy

Not the best anime but I thought it was good, and it ended at the right time before the gimmick wore thin. The show felt like a DnD campaign being played out which I thought was cool.
