i guess the pan was oiled enough or something. last time i cooked fish in a pan it ripped apart and was rubbery and shit. huge mess. haven't pan fried fish since.

I uh have no idea how you fucked up panfrying fish. Did you not coat them properly. Dip them in egg first. Then put them in a plastic bag with your breading mix and shake. If using bread crumbs coating first then egg then breadcrumbs

You're also probably cooking them too long

i cook everything on cast iron and have no issue. just oil heavily and be careful when you flip.

Yeah definitely bread it. Tilapia are good panfried or you can just try searing. If in doubt just throw some lemon pepper on your filet and oven roast it. You'd be hard pressed to fuck that up
