It's too late when the person has died without becoming a parent.

Other than that, it's possible.

It's not going to be an exact science, but if the odds of you dying before the kid becomes an adult is high, I'd say that's a bit dubious.

I mean Letterman was a first time father in his mid 50's and he's doing fine.

Biologically speaking never for a man and for women, it tends to become very difficult to impossible around 35-40 but everyones different and theres plenty of exceptions.

Socially speaking, Id say 40. Do you really want to be geriatric while your kid is in their 20s?

Men can continue to have children until the day they die. As you get older the chances of conceiving are less and less due to age but theoretically a 90 year old dude could have a child.

Women can't. At a certain age they just can't have them anymore.

So of course there is an age difference.

Had a buddy whos dad was near 60 when he was born and while still a teenager, was dealing with his dads end of life stuff. It was a rough situation and made me believe 40 max if it could be chosen for myself.
