Then he just shitposts on gamefaqs since trolling and racism seems to be modded rarely on here in real world contexts so it's low hanging fruit

In otherwords in person it would be like TC wearing a 'I believe in equality' at a feminist rally while screaming down a megaphone how men not having equal rights in child custody cases should be the focus of the rally but he's slightly outside of the building where the rally is held so he can't be removed

Both tbh, they're not exactly the same thing. Can't quite explain, but were you British I assure you the difference would be obvious.

You can have a bar in a pub, but not a pub in a bar. Although not every bar would qualify as a pub, not sure I can explain.

Yeah this. Pubs and bars are definitely different things, and we have both.

But tbh the only way I can really describe the difference is by saying "one's a pub, and... the other... is a bar..."

Chap, for the unfamilliar is a somewhat common word, tho kinda not as common among mondern times used in the UK to refer to a man.

The difference between a pub and a bar is easy (at least in Ireland)
pub = publican house where you could spend most of the day there and night with a conversation. At 'worse' you might have some trad music. The juke box if it has one, won't be loud to encourage you to shout.
bars = usually have music and non-trad Irish music

Bars usually don't do a full Carvery dinner. Pubs will, if it has a Carvery.
You're also more likely to have more exotic or uncommon drinks in a bar than a pub.

No, for real, one is exclusively referred to as a pub, one exclusively as a bar. It's not down to the wood, it's just the fact that one's a pub and one isn't, haha.

That's a decent explanation I think for our worldwide audience :)

Covers probably a good 99% of establishments anyway, one of my old locals had a fantastic collection of Scotch and Belgian local beers with the special glasses for each one though. So it's not 100% ;)

The ambience is the main difference.

Bars are usually slanted more towards being more active and louder and people are encouraged to be in party mode. This encourages bars to be more slanted on the cocktail side of drinks.

Pubs are slanted more towards relaxed "stay awhile and listen" environment. Grab a drink, relax at the table and chat up with your squad. This encourages drinks to be more slanted towards the beer side of drinks.
