H3 recently did a podcast mocking Keemstar (39) for dating a 20 year old so Im bringing it up. And for the record I think Keemstar is trash in every other way.

While I finding this a bit weird myself, who the fuck am I to judge their relationship? Some 20 year olds are even more mature than another person may ever be. To suggest that a 20 year old is capable of voting, joining the military, and agreeing to 6 figure student loan debt, but is incapable of selecting an appropriate dating partner is beyond dumb.

They even argued that theres a power dynamic in play since Keemstar is a successful youtuber except this literally applies to any celebrity or wealthy individual who dates an average joe shmo.

And again I fucking despise Keemstar, but this has to be said.

Legally an adult doesn't matter.
The generational gap between 39 and 20 means the elder should be vastly more mature and experienced than the younger. It's maturity and experience that should bring common sense and adulthood.

I've worked and interacted with 20 years olds, they're just kids, barely able to grasp what the fuck is going on in the world. Somewhere between 25 and 35 people grow up. Once the world has kicked the dreams out of them and they're aware of the futility of existence.

The full podcasts are never worth it. In fact the only ones that are are like the JRE ones if he has somebody like NDT or Cornell West on the show. I just watch the H3 podcast highlights if they talk about something mildly entertaining

I feel the same way. We would have zero shared interests and I'd grow impatient with their immaturity.

I work with a rotating cast of people from 16-25, I'm in my 30s. I have worked with people who grew from 16-21. 18 and 19 year olds are absolutely babies compared to 30 year olds, there is a big gap there. 20 is around the cut off because they've probably been living on their own and experiencing adulthood. A 20 year old has the maturity to enter into this relationship, but it's creepy for a 40 year old to be looking for girls younger than that.

Easily bogus once you realize that sexist overprotective "rule" is typically only applied to young women. Women over 35 are hardly ever casually labeled as predators when pursuing male partners over a decade younger (outside of cradle-robbing teachers grooming male high school students and claiming adult victimhood when caught).

Blatant double standard propagated by ham fisted traditionalists, hypocritical radfems, bitter women who can't stand the younger competition, and thirsty men jealous when someone else gets a hot young girlfriend. They could all have a friendly BBQ together chatting about the issue they agree on...if they could stand being around each other.

A lot of people don't care about that if their partner is rich and can put them on easy street financially. Don't give people too much credit. You'd be surprised what people settle for as long as financial stability is a potential perk.

honestly apart from the fact that they are generally a bit more attractive at 20 than at 40 I still dont see the appeal, everything outside of physical attraction matters too much

People in our social circle are all in their late 30s early 40s.
Beginning of last year one of our friends brought a date to one of our parties.
She was 20 he was 39 at the time.
It was awkward to say the least.
Pretty clear that they had nothing in common with each other bearing in my mind he is a highly skilled structural engineer and she worked at the local Starbucks (where he met here). We struggled to make conversation with her because it turns out middle aged people don't have that much in common with 20 year olds. The girl who was lovely by the way ended up embrassed as did he.
Their relationship didn't last more than a couple of months and he cringes everytime she's brought up.
At the end of the day both are consenting adults and can do whatever the hell they like.
I can tell you that my partner who really liked my friend lost a lot of respect for him that day.
Privately she refers to him as the creep and bearing in my mind he had a daughter the exact same age as the girl he was dating. Then it's hard for me to argue with that assessment.
There is a massive social stigma for this type of dating and always will be.

its actually not. Studies show that dating someone around your age usually results in healthier and longer relationships.

I mean it's weird as fuck when 50+ people are dating 18-20-year-olds to me. It's legal but I honestly don't see much difference from 15-19-year-olds except the law says you can send them to war and you can fuck em. To each their own though. They are legal so let them do what they want.
