Me: *lists a couch for free on OfferUp*

5 minutes later

Person: I can come pick this up at 10am tomorrow. I'll text you before I leave.

Me: Ok sounds good.

Then I'll never hear from them again, even if I reach out.

Why do people love wasting other people's time like this? This is not the first time this has happened to me by a long shot. And it's not like some bot, this woman has a profile picture and 188 good reviews on her account. I need to get rid of this couch by tomorrow morning to make room for a new one and now I have to list it again and try to get someone to pick it up today.

That's basically what I do with stuff I don't feel like putting in the effort it takes to put it on OfferUp or FB Marketplace.

I put it to the curb 2 days before garbage pickup.

90% of the time, it's gone within 2 hours.
