Doesn't have to be civil war. Write up a treaty and get 3/4ths of the states to ratify it and you're done. We can be like what Czechoslovakia did.

What could they really blame the Liberal states for though? Theyd be a completely separate entity. Also they could easily just do whatever the Liberal states are doing that works (which is basically the moral of this whole thing, a conservative country would be hilarious and broken and we could watch them all crash, burn and come crawling back).

lol like that's ever mattered in war. what the hell did we blame iraq for after 9/11?

here's how it would work out. conservative country would separate and realize that they'd lost most of the funding they needed to stay afloat. people would get desperate, desperate people default to stupid shit like cult leading demagogues. one would come into power, claim divine mandate, and push for a holy war on the liberal country.

The notion that Liberals NEED to stay living with Conservatives or theyll destroy the world and/or attack them is absurd, theyre not forced to babysit the stupid Americans. Smart South Korea has completely and fully separated from stupid North Korea, and now Kim Jong Un is the one desperately trying to restore diplomatic ties because they desperately need South Koreas help to survive. Same thing would happen here.
