This is why it infuriates me that my brother isnt vaccinated. He has 3 kids including a newborn and refuses to get vaccinated. Fucking insane

Take your own hint. Your premise was that the covid pandemic would be over if republicans didn't exist. I pointed out that democrats are just as eager to reopen school even when children under 12 can't get the vaccine. Try rereading the topic if you have such trouble understanding. You're not even following your own posts. Don't you feel embarrassed having to have your own posts explained to you?
Thank you for finally articulating what you thought my premise was, don't you feel embarassed that it took that long? Unfortunately that (COVID would be over if Republicans didn't exist) was never my premise, but feel free to create more strawmen. But to the original point - again, what does what Democrats are doing now connect to what Republicans did?

Republicans making mistakes doesn't mean democrats aren't making mistakes. This push to reopen schools is one such mistake.
Again, I'm glad that after a few attempts you stated your position. I agree that Democrats made mistakes - did me or someone else state they didn't? If not this is again a strawman you created..

The CDC also said people who were vaccinated didn't need masks. There is a lot of pressure to "return to normal" and "reopen the economy".
Yes, they said that, and as new data accumulated they changed their position. But that still doesn't answer my question - I'll repeat it for you Whom exactly is saying reopening schools is "poor handling of the pandemic"?

That's cute, but no. There are many ways for a kid to have social interaction without the confines of school. It has become the primary method of social interaction for kids due to how much time they have to spend there, but that's like claiming social interaction is the main point of jobs.

The primary purpose of school is to train future workers and it's taken on more and more of a role as daycare as well, particularly with it being more common for both parents to work.
I cited the AAP - where are you getting this proof that social interaction is incidental and the primary purpose being daycare?

Hopefully you dont preach your one sided views on your newborn. Its not a good look.

Did I miss something in the article saying its all republican children, because boy would a lot of you be surprised if you knew the truth.

What is the "truth" that we don't know?

The post you responded to was about how we are *still* in this mess due to Republican statements/actions etc. How does saying Democrats want schools open refute that?

@Ruvan22 Think before the next time you jump in to take over someone's premise.

@1337toothbrush Think before you assume someone can only have one premise. If you follow the rest of the posts you can clearly see there were other points being argued (I even broke them up for you)

Also were you going to provide support for any of your other claims? Don't you feel embarrassed selectively picking one thing.. and then still being wrong?

@Ruvan22 What a pathetic post, you were better off not posting at all. I was talking about that premise the whole time. You decided to jump in to defend it and now you're claiming that actually you were talking about something else (?). Apparently I'm supposed to read your mind to determine when you've somehow changed the premise in your scattered mind. Don't be silly.

Some of the problem is governors withholding funds. This can be countered by by sending the funds to the schools as emergency relief.

Chicago and Illinois are saying that we are not having the increases in child hospitalizations. (they are saying this) I am not aware of any factors which would make kids in Chicago healthier than NYC or LA.

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/coronavirus/illinois-coronavirus-updates-31-states-now-on-chicago-travel-advisory/2587700/

"
Dr. Allison Arwady, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, says that her office is seeing more COVID cases among children, but that they are generally following the pattern of previous variants of the virus, with children generally not seeing severe health outcomes when they do get sick.
"

"
COVID hospitalization rates in Illinois for children have remained largely steady for most of 2021, according to data provided by state health officials. In the month of July, 57 children under the age of 12 were hospitalized in Illinois due to COVID-19, with 21 children between the ages of 12 and 17 hospitalized in that time.
