This one was really good, definitely scratched the plot itch that's been developing this season.

The implication of this/our Rick having no Beth is really interesting. My guess is that in universes where Rick sticks around, Beth dies, so the only other option is that Rick has to abandon his daughter to save her, where she just grows up to resent him. It's all he has. Makes sense why he's so nihilistic and morbid about things, but also needs connection, and also why he's not that great of a father since he doesn't have any experience doing it healthily.

There's also a quote during the portapotty shootout where they're killing Ricks and they say "killing us wont bring her back", so maybe that flashback scene in S3E1 (where he escapes from prison) was real. Also in that episode, Rick proposing the idea of interdimensional travel to both himself was similar to how he pitched it to Birdperson in this episode.

Gearhead being so lame all makes sense now, he's only there to be a memory of his cooler older bro and he banks on his older bro's rep.

The only thing I didn't really get was, what was Memory Rick doing in the closet at the end of the episode? And Memory Rick being guilty that he got caught. That's just weird. Especially because Rick predicted it, that "it could get ugly". Idk if I'm reading into it too much but maybe Rick is...a pedo?

This episode was great. Seeing a young Rick was fascinating, as was seeing how Rick became friends with Birdperson and why they ended up distancing themselves from one another. Also, BPs a dad! I bet hell be better at than Rick ever was.

Memory Rick hitched a ride out of Bird-Person's brain so he could continue to exist. Rick didn't predict it, it had already happened. He was saying that he suddenly remembered an older version of himself hiding in his closet when he was a kid and he's smart enough to know that this is a brand new memory. It "could get ugly" just because having two different, self-aware Ricks in one brain could be an issue. I don't think Memory Rick was guilty, he was worried real Rick would kill him.

Yeah I probably read into it too hard. Hiding in his kid versions closet during a childhood sexual moment with a grown babysitter while loving Birdperson to go on adventures and Morty as the replacement just all fell into place a little too weirdly.
