As long as they can work until they're eligible for social security then they'll be fine. Once they can't work anymore then they go to a nursing home paid by the state. There is little reason to save unless you make 6 figures a year.

the states wont have enough money for that. Right now, when you get put in a nursing home and cant pay for it yourself they take your house to cover the cost. But when an entire generation of people is renting instead of buying houses, that 10k/month nursing home bill isnt gonna be paid via collateral
