For more clarity, imagine a list of "Greatest athletes of all time" and a horse was on the list. Do you agree that it should be on there? Personally, I say absolutely yes. Kind of explains why some of them can be so foul tempered and why their riders are so bonded to them. They should be more heavily lauded for sure, but problem is they just don't have the same wants and drives.
