Not only does it look stupid compared to the more sleek Rhydon (and I'm not trying to be a Genwunner), but it only gains 10 base stat points in all of its stats except Speed (which gets nothing), and Rhydon's Attack and Defense stats are already pretty damn good as is.

They probably thought that Solid Rock would make up for it, but Solid Rock only reduces damage from Super-effective attacks, and by 25%. Meanwhile, thanks to Rhyperior existing, Rhydon can use Eviolite, which is a full-on 50% defense boost across the board. Rhyperior existing literally makes Rhydon a better Pokemon.

Dusknoir is probably tied for all of the same reasons you mentioned, except I kind of like it's design. Dusknoir existing makes Dusclops better.

Yeah, Rhyperior was a serious miss. Even Lickilicky and Probopass have pretty significant buffs And Probopass gets that boss mustache! even though theyre not very good.
Ambipom is okay and Weavile and Yanmega are great.

Dusknoir looks awesome. Less bulky than evolite dusclops but the attack boost and access to items balancing that out in my opinion.

I mean I also like rhyperior. I can see why people don't though. It probably should have had a sharper attack boost.

I'd say lickilicky is the worst (sp). It's kind of an abomination. Did anyone want it?

Is it fair to complain about eviolite before it existed?
But, yeah, cool pokemon who's a little too underpowered. Literally fits into UU despite crazy stats, ability, and movepool. Nice cannon with CB, but Scizor and Gyara are much too popular for OU.

no? i prefer how rhydon looks but rhyperior is a lot better competitive

rhydon is only viable in zero used which is literally the lowest tier and only recently got created due to pokemon like rhydon which werent even viable in PU (the former lowest tier). whereas rhyperior is the best ground type in UU tier. you are really sleeping on solid rock, its a very powerful ability

I was really hyped for Rhyperior when it was first announced since I absolutely love Rhydon, and then I saw its design... ew.

I kind of liked Lickilicky. Moreso in Gen 4 before the Explosion nerf.

That's true. Still, Eviolite did it no favors.

I'm not denying that it is. But a 50% boost in both defensive stats is still more lucrative, even if you have to sacrifice the item slot for it (and of course, there's stuff like Knock Off).

I do not receive notifications, so using the @ feature will not do anything. I might see your post and respond though if I have already been in the topic.

Held item that boosts defense and special defense if the Pokemon isn't evolved.

but thats flatout wrong. theres a reason rhyperior is 5 whole tiers above rhydon lol. and its because solid rock is that good.

it lets rhyperior be a defensive ground type which is a super rare niche.

Plus rhyperior gets to use the assault vest or be really offensive with life orb or weakness policy. It was really popular with dynamax.

Rhyperior can also make good use of weakness policy on Trick Room teams if the opponent isn't prepared for it
