the golden Pokemon he saw in the previous episode (Ho-Oh)
However, the 4 Pokemon he saw were Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and Arcanine. Articuno is the one he confuses for the PKMN he saw (which will later be introduced in Gen 2 as Ho-Oh) Is this just a situation where the showrunners didn't know that Articuno was already part of the original 150, or was the intention for Ash to confuse the two since he was a rookie? --- http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111123223446/simpsons/images/9/99/K.png I didn't even give you my coat! ... Ash sees a gold Pokemon and thinks it's the same as a blue Pokemon that looks 100% different from the gold Pokemon. Ash is an idiot.
