Honestly, the former are great, but run more on spectacle overall. Solid writing is a more filling meal, even if it's for one-off comedy like with Regular Show.

Anime and its not even close. So many good series since 2010. Even one off series that never got a second season have been great.

I've seen some episodes of anime in the last decade, however by and large the extremely bright and shiny, very digital look of modern anime became really old to me fast.

I didn't watch much anime outside of Pokemon and Yugioh as a kid, so actually it was only in the last two years of my mid 20s, that I started with some of the big hitters from the 90s (Cowboy, Evangelion, Sailor Moon). I loved all of those in different ways, so I'm excited to progress forward. My girlfriend shakes her head at me that I've become a weab 15 years after everyone else (I'm not that, but she likes to make that joke :D)
