Which one you think was the hardest to beat?

And if you remember... which boss / stage?

Megaman 1, because no password.

Otherwise, Megaman 3. Willy Stage is a chore.

1 because of the fall physics.

From 1 to 2 to 3, I think they got easier as they went along.

Probably 3.
1 had the pause trick which worked with Iceman, Fireman, Bombman and Elecman's weapons.
2's pretty easy going overall. Metal Blade and occasionally Quick Boomerang had you covered.

3's the longest one, you get some nice weapons but you don't get a pause glitch/metal blade. Doc Robot stages have two bosses per level and some of them are pretty dangerous.

I agree with this as well. MM1 was the last of the original six that I played and I was already well versed with the others. This one was fairly difficult due to the different mechanics. The Yellow Devil was a pain to contend with. All these years later it has become much easier, but still the hardest of the three.

MM2 is decent yet very flawed.

MM3 is my overall favorite, but it's flawed as well. The fortress stages are just way too easy. I can get through the whole fortress in about 10min.
