Taking place in raccoon city. Just ordinary citizens recording the whole thing and trying to survive.

the tapes in RE7 made me realize this would be a good idea.

it would be like REC1 and cloverfield had a baby. And itd be a great way to introduce resident evil to the theater audience that arent RE fans.

Im with it.

I watched The Visit last night. You could do Resident Evil like that. From the Go-cams & security/hidden cams in the Spencer Estate. They sort of played with that idea in the at least the beginning of the 01 film. So? Yeah. This would also allow them to cut some corners on detailed monster design & get away with a lot more practical effects, truth be told. Take a few cues from theater.

I could see a miniseries sort of like the RE2 remake DLC. Each episode is just a random person in the city trying (and failing) to survive.

I said this years ago and i always thought it would be a great idea. The name i came up with was "Raccoon City Survivors" and it would be a netflix series. The first Episode would start with some regular ass home video stuff like birthdays, a school play, getting ready for the fall season, and then everyone was at a Sharks game when things went to shit.

I figured it would kinda play out like RE Outbreak, where a group of strangers have to get through some areas and try to escape the city. A few would get lost along the way (even some of the kids to make it extra bleak).

At the very end, they are about to make it out and they are mistaken for some zombies and mowed down by some government sent security squad. The last thing you see is some agent in a mask pick up the camera and turn it off.

I would love to see that.

Infinite Darkness was everything I didn't want out of a Resident Evil story. I'm so sick of Leon being the edgy mascot for the series. It would be cool if they made a found-footage RE movie that follows the characters of Resident Evil: Outbreak.

The gameplay scene from Doom was actually really cool, and Ive seen more than a few people give it a warm reception for an otherwise divisive film. A hodgepodge of various found-footage techniques could be very effective in the right hands. Imagine if one of the STARS stuck a cam on a zombie & got it to somehow travel somewhere so they can see whats going on in a dangerous area. That would be new!

I like that idea, Spooking

they could juxtapose it with Brad-Cam (more audio than anything) as he slowly starts to freak out & talk to himself about running away & leaving everyone to die.... but doesnt realize hes being recorded by something (someone left a cam on or theres a bug, etc) ~ and he totally changes gears whenever the team radios him. Haha

Oh oh oh

They could give it a narrator like those TV shows about crimes or the Crypt Keeper, complete with re-enactments of missing footage or redacted footage.... and even some scientific snippets explaining whats happening with bullet trajectory or news reels or history of Raccoon City or whatever. And even maybe add some fake commercials!!!!!! Id love that.

Interviews!! District 9 style

Oh! Inglorious Basterds. At the end, we find that Jill pulled a Rorschach and edited in a PSA for the viewers that the footage was doctored by Umbrella. And this exposes Barry or something.

This hits all the right notes
