First it was the animations. Then it'll be fanart and then fanfiction. Fan work will soon die.

Yeah, If the Emperor Had a Text-To-Speech Device just announced that they will no longer be making content because of this. I don't get how these companies still don't get the value of the literally free marketing these fan-works get them. It's like their Legal departments are just trying to justify their existence by bullying whatever they can find.

Why don't they target their Z budget video game titles?

How can they make 10 games a year and all be absolute garbage?

Companies have to do things like this sometimes.

Not saying its the case here, but the dominant fandom can really shut the doors for newcomers, tbh. You may think youre doing them a favor by completely counteracting the corporate agenda....... but youre not. At least not all
the time. Sometimes, we gotta step back & reassess & let the creators & holders of the series take the reigns back again. 99% of fan output is just junk, tbqh. Its confusing. Its bloating. Its nothing new. Since the dawn of media, the enterprise bodies have been occasionally nipping the bud & reseting to zero. You know? That hundred something dollars youre spending on used figures or whatever every couple of months is just not cutting it for them and they need their buyerbase to be paying attention to their output... and not yours.
