FUCK

Cinemark, $1.75 per ticket. Making us pay money for buying a ticket online. Aren't we doing them a favor by buying online? Doesn't it actually cost MORE money for them if we were to buy at the front box office, since they have to have more people working there and buy more physical paper? We're doing them a favor by buying online, if anything we should get a discount.

But of course they do it because you'd have to be crazy to wait until the movie starts to buy your ticket in person, because the theater will get filled up. So they charge it just because they know we'll pay.

I just hate all forms of "convenience fees" for online payments. Other companies do this too. The thing is, yes, paying online is more convenient than paying in person or making a utility payment via check or whatever, but it's more convenient for the COMPANY too, so it's just insulting for them to charge us. Imagine if nobody made online payments anymore and just sent a bunch of checks everywhere and shit, I bet companies would get overrun.

Cinemark has been doing that for several years.

Most chains waive the fee if you have their membership, though I don't think cinemark is one of them.

AMC will waive with premiere. I go to movie tavern which will waive with it's club thing.

Yea Fandango has always done that with a free ticket after X purchases (still a net win for them).
In the age of reserved seating it's better to grab it online than hope it's available when you're at the box office.

There's never a good reason to make me pay more to make it easier for you to take my money.
That's why I still mail a goddamn check for my water bill.
