It would be okay to not forgive Student Debt if they at least did something about the extortionate behaviour that we see surrounding student loans.

Tuition is like 2x-3x the cost of the same education if you're Canadian. That means there needs to be some major changes.

This is clearly an issue, something needs to be done about it.

I think the big promise on this issue by the Biden admin is free tuition for public universities. Seems like the right move.

The primary issue driving inequality is not billionaires vs everyone else, despite modern left rhetoric. The issue is providing for the poor when the middle class sees that as a threat.

All for that. Student loans forgiveness, and any policy that makes education more accessible to the poor helps with that.

But really, I feel no need to discuss anything with you given your clear motivated reasoning and relative privilege when it comes to these things.

Tuition isn't what keeps poor people from going to college, but it's really hard to explain that to people on CE since so few of you grew up poor.

They go 30k into debt to get a degree that will make them a million dollars more over their lifetime. They earn twice as much as high school graduates and are twice as likely to be employed. Some important context you left out there!

This has all been explained to you guys a million times, you just don't want to hear it. Just like Republicans know tax cuts for the rich don't actually help the poor, it's just something they tell people.

Yes, but as everyone here is aware of (besides you, apparently), sometimes those degrees don't pay off, especially when you graduate into an economic recession and there's a shortage of high-paying jobs.

You would actually know this if you bothered to spend any amount of time in reality.

There's never been a shortage of high-paying jobs dude we literally have a labor shortage. Incomes wouldn't have risen as much as they did in the last 10 years if that wasn't the case. And incomes for the college-educated have risen much more than high school graduates.

Some of you will never admit to supporting regressive policies though. So you'll all tell yourselves that Democrats, who just passed $2 trillion in aid to poor people and want a infrastructure bill next are... opposed to spending money to help people?
