I went to college for philosophy because I wanted to pursue law, but after going to jury duty a couple times (I wasn't chosen), and attending a trial for a family friend, I figured out it wasn't something I cared about.

now I have an office job that I don't care about too much, but it's less stress and tedium (also less money), so it's whatever.

I went to college for computer science because I was really into computers and the Internet back then. After college, I worked in telecommunications, and I only used a tiny amount of what I learned in college

Then I quit telecommunications because I met too many jerks in that field. I became a translator

It would have been better if I had studied languages in college rather than computers

I have a degree in Wildlife Bio

By my junior year I realized most scientists are desk jockeys and mathematicians and the amount of politics and corruption surrounding research is disgusting

I finished with straight Cs not caring at all. No one ever returned my calls for a single biology job I've ever applied for.

I got an English literature degree. I run my uncles company and there are absolutely no jobs related to my degree.

my uncle saw me struggling and he just happened to need someone he trusted who could run his company for him so here I am. Spreadsheets, presentations, emails, reviewing contracts before sending them to our lawyers, I do it all. None relates to my degree.

I am not even sure how my job can translate to a career

Get a credential and teach middle/high school English would be the simplest answer. But if teaching isn't for you that can even branch into stuff like journalism or editing.

I did meet ex-military people in telecom, and I didn't have any problems with them. They didn't make a mountain out of a molehill

I studied political science and music performance for my undergrad. Had plans of going to law school but luckily was talked out of it by a couple politics professors.

Now I work at a small, family-run pest control company and genuinely enjoy my job in spite of everything. Been there 11 years and I'm effectively the head technician for the company now.

Business.

Got me a big promotion in the military, but I don't use any of what I learned. My job is largely people skills and networking connections to get resources. Kinda stressful, so I'll be happy when the next opportunity presents itself.

I started working for a family friend in college just as a part-time job, and eventually he ended up asking me if I wanted to start riding along with him. I started doing it just for shits and giggles, but after a few years I had enough hours for it to count toward apprenticeship, and I took an online trade certification course forrrr, I wanna say like 60 hours? But after that I got my license and just kept working there more and more as he got more work for me. As far as the actual learning, I honestly learned more just from riding along and helping out than I ever did from the actual class.

It's funny how it worked out though, because I actually knew a shit ton about ecology and bugs and stuff because I read a ton of nature books as a kid. Worked out in the end!

Degree in film and video

Highly unstable field, full of gatekeeping, politics, and everyone in the executive positions are insanely inept at doing anything and are basically human number generators.

Im an English teacher now. Much better.
