my city's attorney, the guy who's job is primarily to prosecute drunk drivers, got caught drunk as hell and swerving all over the road a few years back. he categorically refused a breathalyzer test, so they detained him but were unable to 'prove' he was drunk driving so he never got in trouble. still on the job...

Every attorney will advise to refuse breathalyzer even though it's an automatic driver license suspension. This isn't Australia where they randomly stop grandmas at noon and demand breath tests.
