Brand new fresh out the box.

About five seconds after turning it on, the screen started flashing rapidly, like it was a rave. On and off about five times per second. And I don't mean flickering, I mean flashing. Like someone was literally flipping a light switch on and off ten times per second.

What a fucking joke. First TV upgrade in years, deliberately go for a borderline top of the line TV to treat myself, and it shits on me like this. Opened a ticket with Samsung, they can send someone out by Thursday. Also going to call Best Buy (the source of the purchase) tomorrow on the off chance they can do something sooner, but it's unlikely. Samsung support guy said based on my description and troubleshooting with him. he said it sounds like it was the backlight having problems. Definitely hardware related, maybe backlight or power cable or something.

Bright side, the purchase came with a discount on a Samsung A650 Dolby Atmos 3:1 soundbar + subwoofer which sounds freaking phenomenal.

What a letdown. I was so stoked to see the PS5 in full glory on something other than my freaking TCL hhahahha lmfao

I also bought a non-oled for $1500 before tax but only because i have the habit of having multiple windows open for 12-14 hours a day. Was afraid the borders would burn in after a year or so

There are more factors than just input lag, such as frame rate and motion clarity

The lg cx is the only tv with decent performance, but is susceptible to burn in on PC

TVs will always prioritize fidelity over performance. That is what makes them TVs, and not monitors

It hasnt bothered me in the past 2 years. Not sure about the current state of monitors now but back then IPS and the few VA monitors had really crap qc . All three of mine exhibit blb in the corners so was rough for playing horror games.

oh you are one of the BLB pseudoscience guys. Thanks to you I got a used rog swift for like 1k off on amazon

It is incredibly amusing that input lag wouldnt bother someone who plays video games, but then back light bleeding does. At least QLED handles motion far better than OLED

The input lag is fine for single player games. Srs.
Im not one to play competitive titles. Also while i do game it only takes up like 5% of my pc usage. Steam says i only gamed for 0.1 hours the past 2 week . I had briefly played DMC 3 to try something out this past week for 5 mins or so.

Also the blb issue is much more noticeable imo

I was literally about to comment how you must not be competitive at all (not a bad thing), but that games like DMC and other mechanically complex titles are really hurt by input lag. Especially DMC.

Yeah the mod lets you use all style and any weapon loadout at once. I think its better than the switch version.
Man i need to play dmc 3 some more again. Was trying to experiment with cerberus added into the melee arsenal but it is too tough on my fingers having to switch between 4 weps on dted enemies.

You know what ill hook up one of my monitors again for old times sake to see if i notice myself playing better. Not tonight tho because am tired .

Actually I was looking at the Sony x90j/h or whatever the latest model was as my second choice, but the stand was too wide for my coffee table so I went with the Samsung. Rtings has them comparable.

Anyways an update, I had to drive an hour back to best buy for a swap, but the guy at least refunded me $50 for all the hassle. New one working great so far, knock on wood...

What a picture upgrade though, holy fucking moses

What make/model?

I could've feasibly gone a hair bigger but I'm still in an apartment so 55'' is about the max for my 10-whatever foot viewing distance

Bro this isn't 2012. I play strictly pvp and even I can say the average modern TV has negligible input lag.

I sit 9 feet away from my 75" TV, and it's the perfect viewing distance. I feel bad that you have to squint at a little 55" TV from 10 feet away. It's an LG Nanocell 90, BTW. Also, it was $1600, I misremembered the price.

tbh don't let them "fix" it because who knows what else is wrong. For that money you're entitled to get a total refund for the piece of shit and just go with a fresh one or different kind altogether.

Yeah all good here, lotta posts here so it wouldn't surprise me if you missed it, but they gave me a clean swap for a new one (and a $50 discount for the hassle).

New one working great so far ~24 hours in. Haven't had time to fuck with the settings yet but played a little Miles Morales and a little Warzone. Looks phenomenal.

yeah i thought input lag was really only a thing on projectors anymore, and even that technology has improved drastically, my buddy would play warzone on a projector as recently as like six months ago and said there was no lag whatsoever
