You never know what kinda snake that is and if it could kill your dog or seriously hurt it My friend has 2 pits and lives near some canyons and they would always go after rattlesnakes they'd see. Get that dog away, get a broom or go in your car, and kill that snake from a distance so nobody has a chance of dying. That being said, good on that dog imo. It didn't attack until it was attacked. It was hilarious when he first seen snakes cause he would try to get close and sniff them, but he was so nervous they would jump at him that his whole body would start shaking everytime he got close. His body was habitually in flight mode but his interest kept him trying to sniff it up close. These were lil non poisonous snakes.
