As a DBA, I can tell yall I don't need 3 monitors. It's a want and honestly it's to make my desk look cool and flashy. It hardly helps me be more productive. And, honestly, I think most people don't need more than 2 monitors as well and more than likely the people who claims they need more than 2 monitors are lion.

I have one for communication (outlook, teams, etc), one for code, and one for sql/browser.

One for VM, one for email/IM, one for pornography.

I can get by with two, but feel like I need 10 often...

I've never had a need for more than two monitors especially with the macbooks' multiple desktop feature. Generally have one monitor with desktops for web browser(personal stuff), plex, spotify, VMs while the other monitor is desktops for web browser(work stuff), Outlook, and Slack.

It's nice with 3 but I could easily use 2. I'd need to resize stuff and condense instead of constantly having everything maximized.

been using 2 monitors for ages, but there have been times where i've felt i could use 3. mainly so i can have work on 2 and my entertainment on the 3rd.
