thing with bethesda games is the auto-save function is often unstable. better to get in the habit of quick saving.

Oh. Another reason I prefer F4 to the others is because the quality of life the quickness of quicksave is. It's hard to go back to going through loading menus to save again every time.

Do you like Fallout 4 more than Fallout New Vegas? I like to play it more. Cause the quality of life changes. But if NV had all the quality of life changes in a remaster, I'd prefer that. I think people understate the importance of how streamlined annoying things become on newer games. They seem to pick their favorites with rarely even considering stuff like not having to load a menu to look at loot, no level cap that makes playing a lil underwhelming after and the previously stated quickness of quicksave. Add the actual gunplay feel and less frame rate issues (it's still a Bethesda game tho). Also, some people choose favorites based on PC mods that help overall quality.
