Should need a license and mandatory dog training and an expensive price tag to be allowed to own a pitbull, and any owner without proper paperwork is given either a major fine or prison time.

I think the breed should be banned from public ownership, but with the above it would at least help. That would at least keep a fair amount of the kinda folks who breed the breed for fighting and such away.

Also, almost every fatal dog attack was from a pit or pit mix, with some rottweilers thrown in there

I love pitbulls and I love all dogs but while trying to research this incident more. I deep dived into this incident and it really made me empathize with this poor woman who was attacked by two dogs and had her small dog, Frankie ripped away from her.
