My $500 a month is nothing compared to what people donate without anything in return and I can set myself up financially for the future. I will never shill for that man. If anyone asks why I stay there, I would tell them why. You can try to
guilt trip me all you want but it wont change anything.

I wont engage with these people outside of saying hello. Ill stack my money and make moves while Im there. The goal is to get financially comfortable and leave ASAP. Hell I would rent the place out and never live there if that is allowed.

I am Black. Everyone has a price. Ask any black person and the majority will tell you. Hell, that counts for most people. The people that are high and mighty about this kind of hypothetical are usually the people that are already very financially comfortable trying to stand on their moral high ground.

Ask the Janitor at the hospital what he would do. Ask the minimum wage McDonalds employee what she would do. Ask the person that got laid off last week and dont know where the next meal is coming from. Ask anyone who isnt financially well off. The answer would be yes the vast majority of the time.

This world is mostly about wealth. You dont have to like that but it is a fact. Having strong morals wont get you very far if you dont have the influence to do something with it

You're basically cutting your rent and moving to a larger space. You also have the opportunity to build career contacts while also putting your kids in an up scale neighborhood and presumably better than average public school. If you're single then there's also a good chance of meeting and marrying into a rich family.

I'm a home owner getting ready to pay off my house whenever I get around to asking for the payoff statement. Mortgage is only $730 currently.

So when I do that my only bills will be property tax, utilities, and food. I could live off a part time job if I wanted and maybe do some travelling. I have a better deal here.

No you're not. You tried to reason with TC about your viewpoint, which isn't inherently wrong. Survival is a priority to humanity. There is no limit to what we can do as a species in the name of survival. If that's wrong, then every single person has no morals. Morals aren't about never doing something. They're about choosing how to live your life with the cards you're given. Someone who doesn't have a lot of power doesn't have a lot of choice. That is understandable. Meanwhile we have people with a lot of power who actively harm the society they live in. It would take minimal effort to make a less negative impact but they do not. That is a lack of morality.

You guys understand that you could rent out your current house and make money? Right?

If you take the deal then you could rent out your current house for $2,000 a month and come out with like $1,300 a month profit. That's a 240,000 dollars in your pocket at the end of the 10 year "lease." Plus during that time your owned house is still appreciating in value. There's no way you don't become financially better off by taking the deal.
