legalize drugs

Ending drug prohibition would be a massive first step, especially in regards to opioids.

Similar to alcohol dispensaries, selling opioids of known dosage quality and regulated purity would be a massive step and eliminate dangerous black market drugs.

Just make all script drugs over the counter. That way herion junkies can just go get some Flintstones Chewable Morphine from Wally World and scratch that itch for cheap.

It's getting pretty bad here in Canada too. I know of a high school kid who died from an opioid overdose.

It's scary to think that that shit is in the schools.

the war on drugs is clearly working lmao

by the way, i would bet a good chunk of this is due to the opioid epidemic caused by the pharmaceutical industry.

Is this actually true though? Nothing I read shows this. I just did a quick google search and everything I read shows the opposite. The only positive I found was that the legalization of WEED help brought down opioid overdose in some states. Arent legalized opioids the leading cause?

Now you want the government to distribute legal heroin? Also, did the legalization of weed stop the cartel and other dealers? No

Yes. Literally all evidence shows that decriminalization and legalization reduce instances of addiction and overdoses.

Heroin is much cheaper to obtain than over the counter opiates, particularly in the states. It is also likely to be laced with fentanyl since it is not regulated the way opiates are.

Also cartels are in a handful of legit businesses now. Some are in the avocado trade, others have their hands on gold mines.

Yea its terrible in BC for sure. I think we're actually leading the country in overdose deaths the last decade or so.

The other day an advocacy group were handing our free cocaine, heroin, and opiates outside the Vancouver police department to anyone who wanted some.

Even the cops knew better than to interfere.

It'd be nuts to be out walking and someone is like "want a gram of heroin?" And you pass and someone else is like "how about cocaine?"

The town I work in had like 30 people die from heroin ODs in 2019, and its only a 16000 person town. Every couple weeks there was a new RIP so and so post on Facebook

Look up drug deaths where drugs are legalized. A large reason people fall into opioid use is because of the thrill of it being illegal, much like underage drinking. Drinking becomes much less fun once its legal

You either really went out of your way yo ensure that your results lined up with your personal views or you somehow really suck at Google.

They recently started a new policy here that gives people immunity from being arrested for drug possession if you call 911 on someone having an overdose.

Hopefully that'll save a few lives because people won't be scared to call 911 for fear of being arrested.
