Youre gonna be looking like Bobby Lashley. Keep it up.

lol hopefully I am half that size. Slamming 3300 calories a day was brutal, I felt full all the time. This is my first day at 1800 calories... and holy shit I am hungry lol I haven't felt hungry in months, this is going to be really hard

Anyone that does not have the income and the free time of the Rock or some other multi-million/billion dollar earning celebrity proclaiming that nobody needs any supplement beside Vitamin B or proclaiming that they are able to get all their vitamins and minerals via only food is misguided. Here in the real world, the average every day person in the 1st world is not going to have all the time in the world to cook and eat all the nutrients their body requires for nourishment or do the perfect meal prep day in and day out due to other responsibilities whether it be getting to work on time or taking care of their children or pets. Even you will agree with this sentiment, as evident by your last post highlighting what supplements you do take.
And I obviously stated that I take those occasionally, not every single day.

No one in this thread ever stated a word about nutritional deficiencies until you decided to label me for spreading "vegan propaganda" and ignorantly stated that a vegan like me is, and I quote:

not supplementing the vitamins and minerals their body is deficient in from cutting out meat.
So is your perceived problem with me specifically, my choices of what and how often I supplement, or with the vegan diet and lifestyle in general?

You spent time bashing keto, aka, what people label a primarily meat based diet. If your criticisms stopped at concerns for it, thatd be fair game, you having to highlight being vegan was a game changer for you reads like an informercial that screams, go vegan!
So this is the problem I see.

Well, I heavily criticize the keto diet because I've personally done it myself, and I did it with extreme discipline for two years. I almost shilled for it on this website and advised others to try it. Currently, I've put numerous hours into schooling, textbooks, documentaries, research papers and lab studies on learning about nutrition and dietetics. People that are on a primarily low-carb, meat-based diet (like Atkins, keto or carnivore) will inevitably suffer from nutritional backlash and consequences because they are not consuming enough fiber and complex carbohydrates, and these are derived almost 100% entirely from plant-based sources.

On the flip side, after adopting a primarily plant-based diet, I've personally noticed many improvements in my overall health and fitness compared to when I was on the keto diet. I have better appetite control and blood sugar control, I never have to count calories or watch my net carbs, I never feel bloated or constipated, I have constant energy all day long, my mind is always more focused and less affected by negative feelings or thoughts, and my workouts are nothing short of awesome, as I can run faster and longer, and I can lift more than I've ever been able to lift in my life.

I lost more weight and gained more lean mass and strength eating carbs all day long than I ever did by keeping them as close to zero as possible. And I'm doing all of this while only eating less than 60g of protein every day.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to share my experience with others, and there's nothing wrong with teaching and encouraging others to be aware of the risks of a low-carb diet, and the benefits of implementing much more fibrous whole food complex carbs like fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains into the diet.

It's been 4 months of exercise and healthier living. I've got to a place where I feel good in clothes again and my nutrition is so much better. People have commented I look much healthier, which is great.

I hired a PT last week to teach me how to do the big lifts, it's been really fun. Have another session tomorrow for deadlifts.

Gonna be strong yo

Your criticisms read as mistaking keto for carnivore. The criticism against fruit by ketogetics derive from the sugar content, plenty of ketogentics will recommend avocado, tomato, olive, strawberries. On a similar metric, plenty of ketogentics will recommend broccoli and zucchini over potatoes. My take on carbohydrates is consume them based on physical activity levels, and keep them to being real whole foods, and not garbage like potato chips. Theres a high chance the weight one is losing while staying under significant protein portions is lost of muscle, and not lost of body fat, this is a story all too common with many people that make the jump to veganism. Going vegan or keto or whatever for health purposes will put the average person ahead of the majority of Americans, and at the same time also make them prone to deficiencies. I cannot stress it enough the importance of supplementation. Just about any change in eating habits that moves one away from excessive consumption of refined grains, added sugars, and vegetable oils will improve ones health.
As a nutritionist, and a former ketogenic dieter, I am more than fully aware of the allowances and limitations of sugar content in foods such as fruit on a ketogenic diet. I will say, while it is a great stepping stone to learn about healthier eating patterns and eliminating unwanted food groups like added sugars and refined grains and oils, and while you will see quick weight loss and potential decreases in LDL cholesterol, the main problem with the ketogenic diet is that it's not sustainable long-term for anyone that isn't a young pediatric seizure patient or a terminal ill cancer patient. There are just too many problems associated with a low-carb diet that slowly begin to manifest over time, such as worsening artery function, kidney function issues or cholesterol levels rising back to where they originally were, or possibly even above that. These effects are further exacerbated due to a potent combination of high-fat and high-protein intake that comes from high-density calorie foods like meats, cheeses, fats and sugars, as well as the lack of fiber and micronutrients that are found in a majority of complex carbohydrate foods, such as whole grains, legumes, fruits and root vegetables.

For anyone that is actively trying to lose weight with the most ease and least difficulty, the most successful attempts will be achieved with a more plant-based diet. Participants in experiments have repeatedly shown that, even with being allowed to eat ad libitum, those that eat primarily more high-bulk, lower-calorie density foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans are able to feel full with almost 50% fewer calories and are perfectly satisfied, and thus do not have to worry about calorie counting or portion control.

Supplementation should also be carefully considered and monitored, as the supplement industry is very dangerous and predatory market, especially the protein shake market, as well as the keto market that is resurfacing as a newly reskinned Atkins market. Nutrition should always come primarily from food, that is the source we have always gotten our nutrition from for thousands of years, and we should always be aiming to eat the most nutritious food whenever possible. That is why supplements are called supplements in the first place, they are designed to assist and aid us with a diet in a manner that we have difficulty in achieving, not act as a substitute for real food and nutrients.

There are only a handful of supplements that I would recommend to the average person. Vitamin B12 because it's the one vitamin that doesn't come from food itself; Vitamin D3, preferably plant derived, because it is beneficial to those that don't manage to get enough sunlight, and it also assists with calcium and phosphorous absorption; Apple cider vinegar to aid with restoring stomach acid pH balance and help reestablish the foundation of a healthy gut microbiome, which is related to issues like GERD, leaky gut, skin conditions, IBD, mood and sleep disorders; and creatine monohydrate for those that are physically active and looking to give a boost to performance. Once you establish healthy eating patterns and are taking in adequate nutritious food every day, the need for these supplements will fall to almost never needing them, apart from B12, as I stated in a previous post.

I will also leave this video here that talks about the keto diet impacting performance.

No, I would not recommend this. Eat some food instead. Something with healthy complex carbs to replenish your glycogen stores and give you some fiber. Most protein shakes are uber processed and contain a lot of additives that you don't need. And in general, they are just too much protein.

If you are going to add a protein powder, use a plant derived one like pea or soy, or some no sugar peanut butter powder. These are low-fat and have naturally occuring fiber and antioxidants, whereas whey and casein powders do not have those and have to be artificially added. Use anywhere from a 1/4 to 1/2 serving, and make sure to add plenty of fruits. Maybe thrown in some dark leafy greens too for extra nutrients.

Can this topic not turn into some debate of the diets? I think people should just stick to what works for them. Veganism isnt for me but I fully appreciate that it works for others. In any case, Id like to keep this topic positive.

Yesterday I didnt workout at all and also ate like crap. Was just out and about all day and we hit up a place we love that we hadnt been to since the pandemic. But I made sure to eat carefully the rest of the day.

I may have to step away from exercising or tone it down. I am experiencing some cramping and spotting even though Im 2 weeks away from my period. Need to call my doctor about it. I did have a c section 3 months ago but maybe Im not ready for this level of exercising and I may just stick to walking and something lighter.

Its been 3 months. I had thought I would be fine now. But the spotting started right when I started adding more intensity to my exercising. Could also be hormonal because my hair started shedding too and that happens a few months postpartum when hormones get all whacky. Just need to check with my doc.

Apologies, I just don't like seeing some people give bad advice to others, especially after they decide to label me for spreading "propaganda" and stereotype me for my food choices. It derails the entire point of the thread, and I hope the other user realizes this as well and admits their fault.

Back on topic, seems like you should stick to mild exercise and stretching before getting the green light to continue. If you're looking for another alternative, I highly recommend some yoga or meditative practices. Super easy to incorporate into a routine, if you don't have a mat, you can use a soft surface like a rug or pillow.

Does anyone have a good Vegan Protein powder recommendation? I usually have 2 or 3 protein drinks per day, and I want to rotate between whey/casein/vegan protein powders.

I have tried the Vega Sport, which works good, but it is like powdered sugar, so it just gets fricken everywhere.

OWYN is a decent brand. Too much protein for me though, I would normally use a 1/4 or 1/2 serving in my smoothies.

My motivation's at a low ebb rn. I've been going really hard, but lately I can't seem to sleep for some reason and I'm feeling kinda worn and stretched. Not a good combination. Took yesterday off and I've gone super light today. Gotta focus and turn this around with a great night's sleep.

Seeing my doctor in the morning. Felt worse today. Like just drained of all energy as well as still crampy. Havent really exercised and just ate whatever but just not much of an appetite anyway.

I did order some new clothes that were a bigger size. Everything was still too small even though I ordered 2 sizes bigger than usual. Felt pretty shitty about it. I dont have any clothes that fit me and its summer.

I can't workout currently. I hurt my achilles tendon a month ago, and my primary method of working out would exacerbate that.
