A man who racially abused England players on social media has complained about the backlash he is now receiving.
Shaun Drewerys historic comments resurfaced amid the sickening racist abuse of Englands Black players following the Euro 2020 final. He made the racist remarks on a picture of Englands Under 17s squad alongside the 1966 World Cup-winning team, reports Hull Live. The vile comments were then shared on Facebook and quickly went viral. The window cleaner originally claimed that his phone had been stolen and that the comments posted to social media were not of his doing. He then owned up to his actions after being confronted by Hull Live, but argued that his abusive comments were just banter. In the post which has been shared widely by community Facebook pages Drewery refers to teenage England players as c****. His friend also compares the team to criminals an extremely offensive and racist stereotype. Speaking to Hull Live, he said: I wrote one flippant word, on a post that wasnt mine, which has been blown massively out of context.
