I don't think this is how it works.

At least no the places I've worked (ranging from warehouses, tp fast food, to a car wash).

I'm actually dealing with this right now found out someone makes.more than me just because they have been there longer and doesn't do half the work I do. Pay should never.be based on seniority!

Depends is the person lazy and makes more than me then I would be mad, but if that person worked there butt of I wouldn't be bothered by it unless they were making alot more than me.

I encourage those that work under me to discuss their raises when they come out. If you don't like your raise relative to others then negotiate for a better one. Ive given you what I feel is fair but I'm not infallible. Try to correct that.

If someone else negotiated better than you or provided a better case for more money there's a very clear path for how to fix that. Get better at one of those. I like to encourage my strongest employees to rise even higher. Whether you use those skills with me or move onto somewhere else, they'll help you out a lot in life. If you're not interested in that then you'll just get what you get.
