Either way, while I do think we're getting a P6 announcement, we're still probably getting a P5-related game, considering R still left kind of a cliffhanger about Akechi being alive or dead, and how we know absolutely nothing about what Jose even is

I'm taking everything at the end of P5R to be a gratuitous amount of fan service. Jose is the biggest question, and the stuff he said at the end of his trials hints that he is not done yet.

eeeh, tbh Idk if I'd call 3 the best. It has by far the worst story pacing of the modern games (can't speak for 1 or 2), the gameplay (both for SLs and Persona stuff) felt pretty rough compared to later games, and I wasn't too fond of SEES as a unit (most individual characters are great tho)

3 pretty much had like 2 months of nothing at the start and 2 months of nothing at the end (though I do acknowledge that the latter was for atmosphere, but still). And I guess Tartarus not being too actively involved in the story until the end doesn't really help since that's where the majority of the gameplay is at

Catherines my favorite ATLUS game but Im not sure how much more they can really do with it, they really just dropped a perfect puzzle game right out the gate and most of the additions in Full Body are just neat and not an improvement to the formula, IMO.
Id love to be proven wrong though, Catherines so much fucking fun, its the Platinum trophy of mine that Im most proud of.

Yeah and that puzzle formula had real potential to work beyond one game entry. Atlus did do a Persona crossover thing with Full Body but the $30 DLC was bullshit.
I know they're always going to be the SMT company, but they could try harder expanding IPs outside Persona.

Trauma Team was sooooo good (Wii only and the last game in the series) and maybe they could've had something with Dragon's Crown but it's just not in their plans.

I'm on a Persona high right now since I've been playing Persona 5 (my first game) relentlessly over the past few weeks and I'm almost finished.

This definitely came at the right time for me.

Highjacking this to comment that 1. I am excite and 2. I just started playing another Atlus game: Radiant Historia and it is gr8 so far and thx to people on CE whom suggested it to me months ago

Radiant Historia is quite possibly the closest thing we'll get to a new Chrono Trigger game. It's a fantastic game. I completed it back when it was first released. I even bought the Perfect Chronology remaster for 3DS.

Playing remastered version right now. Never got too far in the original but I plan to beat it this time
