I have ended up paying electric and gas for the building for some time. I am moving now and I hoped to be free. Looks like not.
In a previous apartment, the landlord actually had to install an electric meter for the building but I could see that a public outlet was wired into my meter. In my new building I counted meters and apartments and some apartment is paying for the furnace in the basement, the hot water heater for the laundry room and for lights and outlets. The best I can hope for is that second floor and third floor are not on my meters. Is this just standard? Is it standard for Chicago? Does any state/country have ordinances and a staff to prevent this? --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... 5/6 tenants in my building are not going to experience this.
