So, what we need to do is start sending more probes. A network of probes will quickly relay deep space information, but.... not in our lifetime. Therein lies the problem for this generation. Which are great reasons but for large scale colonializarion, there will need to be an economic purpose. Unless we are somehow post scarcity. Assuming you have fully functional colonies you can farm in ideal weather nonstop. You can plant trees for wood and stuff or whatever. It would be a good place to have food production going on.
