My friends were saying it was "meh" but my girlfriend wanted to see it so I was expecting to be bored, but I was entertained the whole way through. I won't spoil it but I thought the ending was kind of lame but that's about my only criticism. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is an excellent movie, but i don't think it is necessary to follow the mcu metaplot. Thor 2 is not a movie i really enjoyed, but i think it is important to the plot.
