I've beat all the other From Soft souls type games but suck ass as Sekiro. Anyone have any git gud tips?

Imagine if Dark Souls didn't have shitty hitboxes.
Now imagine if the combat was turn based. You attack until they deflect then you deflect their attack and go to attacking again.

Being aggressive helps. Most people play too passive.

Get out of the Souls dodge mentality.

If you aren't attacking, hold down block at all times and only let go and quickly bring it back up to parry. That way you'll usually at least block the attack if you fuck up the timing. If your posture bar gets too high, back off and hold down block, it will go down faster than just standing around or attacking.

Also don't forget to use ninja tools, items and stealth. For regular enemies it's super easy to play hit and run and stealth kill so many of them. You're a ninja, you don't fight fair.

You can still play like souls. You just need to git gud and not be afraid to take like an hour to fight a boss and chip damage them to death.

my advice, Focus. Theres little room for error on bosses, especially the later ones, and especially the last one.

Keep trying, youll get better and better and eventually itll click and youll think holy shit im amazing

IMO the game is more fair than Ninja Gaiden Black

Oh, and also yeah this too. It's called the deflect/parry spam game, but I strongly recommend you don't just stand there and wait to deflect everything. Be aggressive and attack spam the bosses, they'll become a lot more predictable. Plus, you do health damage and that makes their posture a lot easier to break with less deflects.

Its ok to spam deflect because sometimes thats what you have to do, and itll help you understand the timing of deflects vs blocks

spamming does shorten the deflect time, but not by much. Its still a wider margin than parrying in dark souls

I loved the setting and story but certain fights really gave me a hard time.
