Whatever spare cash I have I throw in a fireproof safe. Been doing it for about 15 years and don't know how much is there.

You never know when you might have to get up and run.

what type of scenario has happened in the modern world in the last 15-30 years that you would consider a good example of why someone should do this?

You're better off investing that or putting it in a savings account. That shit won't grow in value just sitting in a safe while inflation sets in.

I throw some cash around the house or in areas for just in case days, or to bring on vacations or something.
