I honestly never believed the stereotype of rich, entitled people like you see on tv. At least until I got this job, people can be ridiculous. My coworker had one of those "do you know who I am?" type guys a few weeks ago. She kicked him out. lol

Lol. I wish someone woulda done that to the guy I mentioned. Unfortunately the hotel owner was one of those types himself and he definitely had a "i am inherently better than anyone with less money than me" attitudes.

The majority of guys I knew had slept with his daughter at one point, and back then I kinda thought that was hilarious. But later I found out he was a horrible horrible person to her and just worshipped her sister for whatever reason. I didnt like that guy.

Idk there are some like that but i doubt its higher than the % of entitled poor people

I worked retail in an insanely wealthy town for a few years and folks were pretty chill for the most part

Its not all rich people. But also I dont think I've met an entitled poor person, certainly not in the same sense.

As a carpenter I've worked on the houses of some super rich people and overall only a very few were jerks. The one thing 90% had in common was a lack of ability to understand that just because they wanted a thing it didn't mean it was gonna happen.

The one guy wanted so many things done that we had no permit for, wanted stuff built that wasn't even on his property, and all kinds of stuff that was just like... no. You literally can't do that. He was always nice about it but every other day someone had to go over the sake stuff and explain it all over as to why that can't happen just cause he wants it to.

You can just put it in the bank and let the interest be your monthly allowance.

@Turbam isnt the bank interest rate like 0.5%?

Ally's is 0.6%
They also compound monthly so that's $12,000 a month

The safe rate that FIRE enthusiasts use is 4%

4% of 2 million is 80k. It wouldnt be taxed the same as W2 income and I dont actually need anywhere near 80k to live so yeah, I can easily retire on that. It would be growing every year

retiring sounds boring anyway, working is nice, all I need is the freedom of when to work and when not to work

Its not rich if you retired on it. Youd have to live modestly in order to make that kind of money last the rest of your life time, so are you really living rich at that point? No, absolutely not.

A 2 mil apartment what a fucking waste. Just buy a house at that point.

She probably rents out the rooms she isn't using though, kinda smart from a passive income standpoint. I wouldn't believe it if she was paying 2mil a month for a single (or multiple?) apartment rooms...

2 million is enough to make an investment portfolio so large you can live off of the dividends

So yes, it is rich

I think to be rich means you can frequently indulge in a lavish lifestyle. Which is why $2 million isnt rich. Yes, we could live off $2 million, but we couldnt live a rich lifestyle.

I'll take freedom over a lambo, a million dollar watch, and a mansion any day. I dont need that much.

It depends on your definition of rich. I could have a house with a skatepark in the yard not far from the lake and a 74 land cruiser done up just right and have over half left to invest and live off and essentially have everything I want.

I could even get a 49 Merc for my summer car and still be sitting way north of a million left.

Entitled poor people...
They exist. Take my brother and his wife for example. Neither of them work and they survive on his disability cheques. They have absolutely no spare money. They ask for shit from everyone all they time, and if you can't help them or you don't buy it brand new it isn't good enough for them.
