For me it's probably Assassins Creed Origins. I liked it well enough, but fell off after 25 hours or so. Only came back around to it after getting really into Odyssey the year later.

Do you mean when you continue a save file you made quite a long time ago? Or does it count if you start a new game?

Close to 25 years to beat Link's Awakening, I reckon.

Oh wait. 27.5 years for me to finally beat SMB1.

I bought New Vegas for the PS3 when it was new. Never finished it because fucking. Crashing. Every. Five. Minutes!

Installed the PC version last fall and have been slowly going through it. Sure, it still crashes, but it's more of a chance than a guarantee, and little to no progress is lost since the game often creates a save when it crashes.
Not sure when I'll finish it, but I will!

Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.

I'm sure there's plenty of Atari and NES games I never finished, so 35+ years.

You need to have finished them, though.

Probably about a decade for Harley's Humongous Adventure on the SNES. I played it when I was a little kid, but just couldn't manage to beat it. I stopped playing it for a loooong time, then went back to it as a teenager and beat it.

Mario 64

Never managed to finish it when it first came out. Think it was probably 7 or 8 years when I finally got around to playing it again?

Once I got to Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, I got bored and put the game down. Months turned to years because I felt discouraged by how rusty I would be if I tried to play the game again. Eventually I picked it up and finished it, but it took a long time.

Wait a minute, Super Mario Land may have actually taken longer. That was the first game I ever played, and that was in second grade, but I didnt end up actually beating it until high school or later.

Riven.

1997ish to 2018ish. the game i bought with my playstation. went the wrong way at the beginning, got hopelessly lost, and got incredibly frustrated with the disk swapping trying to get back towards the real path.

bought the kickstarter collection when it came out, finally got around to playing them a few years ago. was much more enjoyable as an adult, though i did need to cheat on two puzzles. sad face.
