A FedEx delivery driver was critically injured when he was attacked by two American Bulldogs in rural Illinois.
Police in Calhoun County, Illinois tell News 4 the FedEx driver was attacked north of Kampsville on Saturday. The worker had to have his left arm amputated below the forearm. He also sustained serious injuries to his right arm and both legs. The worker remains in a St. Louis hospital with significant injuries and is awaiting further surgeries.

The brother of the victim said the two dogs busted through the home's front door when he was delivering a package. When the homeowner got home, the dogs were on top of the driver.

Saw this in local St Louis news a month or so ago.
I read in another article that the dogs were American bulldogs. There had been no previous issues with these dogs prior to this supposedly.
It's a terrifying story and I'm betting the owners are getting sued big time.

Either everyone on the website suddenly became terrified of dogs or some people are astroturfing.

My mom was a meter reader back in the 90s and she got bit by a dog and got a bunch of money in a settlement.

She hates dogs now.

Not really. After the last topic, I spent over three hours reading up on this in the US.
Turns out lies make up a lot of the decisions to label certain dogs as pitbulls.
That dogbite.org site is culpable for a lot of pain, dead dogs, and misinformation.

Labradors still bite more than any other breed.

euthanize the dogs. but yes everything listed on there. they have to go. could do it to someone else. they're unstable (dog's aren't supposed to attack people like that).

This is true, but remember just like my attorney is trying to do, many pitbull owners have the dog classified as anything but a pit for insurance purposes. So while it sucks that if she's successful my attack will not officially be classified as a pitbull attack (it would go under "mixed breed"), it was a still a pitbull and the dominant pit genes guiding their behaviors and demeanor. And we've got to do whatever we can to get me paid and avoid having to seize their home and literally everything they own of value ad garnish wages for the next 20 years. I specifically got a dog bite attorney for their expertise, and her being a victim herself she wants to go hard and nail their ass to the wall by any means necessary.

puppy's miss a critical period where you bring em out in the world and socialize the dog around other human's. then again maybe it was unstable.

No need to apologize, really, no hard feelings on my end. People get heated, and I'm happy to discuss this with anyone who won't resort to personal attacks and mockery. I do get heated and am trying to tone it down, my anger and statements last week were born out of finding out the owners insurance is fighting the claim and frustration over how I'm going to be compensated. Its a hell of a thing to have your attorney tell you realistically when its all said and done I could end up with a worthless piece of paper saying they owe me X amount of money and it could take 20 years to get it and involve hiring a collection agency. Basically frustrated and infuriated facing the reality that victims have very little rights or avenues to seek damages when the other party is literally poor white trash. AND there's literally nothing stopping them from moving away and doing it to someone else.

Australia does sound tempting with all the other problems we have in the US lol
