Of course not. We do, however need to socialize things like medicine. We also need some heavy government restrictions regarding housing. We cant move forward with low wages and $1600/month rent.

Basically, make medicine 100% free from the visit to the prescription, then force landlords to rent for fair prices (no more than $700/month). Landlords would sell in droves and affordable homes would suddenly be on the market.

Medical care is basically only for the wealthy now. I was refused Obamacare because I made too much money, but I was unemployed!

No. Put red tape where it should be; remove it where it shouldn't be; and have a decent fucking safety net - one that's designed to help people get back to the point where they don't need support, but also provides the help they need until such time as they get there; not just one that just offers the bare minimum needed to keep them alive and leaves them on their own, dependent on it, beyond that.

Also take note of the general concept re: doing the same thing and expecting different results.

What kind of socialism are we talking about here? There are a lot of social benefits and programs in many western countries including north america. In canada we have free health care, cheap tuition, and great social welfare systems. In the US, you guys have cheap food, good welfare systems, bad health care though (in terms of cost. Your doctors and medicine is much better than ours however). Bad tuition fees too (Although i'm sure there are plenty of grants and scholarships available)

Amazon's online business killed physical retail while also treating their employees like crap.

It does slightly pass on the efficiency in prices but they're not that much lower.
