I started a new game in it too since I hadn't played for 2 years. Meh. I still feel rushed all the time and I wish there were legit missions like the tutorial that had you exploring unique areas. The loop of getting in your car and driving across the map to drop something off or your neighbors throw a fit certainly wasn't missed

how do you feel rushed? Its not like there is a time limit

like, there's a distance creep that makes everything you do slightly more and more tedious. you have to move further and further out until you decide to move, which makes sense "realistically" but doesn't make for fun gameplay when infestations pop up around you forever and trips take longer and longer, back and forth, back and forth ad nauseum.

you should have been able to make fast travel outposts

time you spend not doing something is time wasted for doing babysitting missions and hordes and infestations moving in. the game is still like 90% busy work and it wasn't fun then, and it isn't now

you're just rushed, pressured. you have to micromanage the whole world or bad things stack up on you

got back into it when plague territory was released and its been pretty fun i must say.....
