Balance Slays the Demon
The Best Is Yet To Come Katamaritaino (Roll Me In) balance slays the demon is such a fun song that i just immediately forget la mer the moment i hear it. a good song on its own, but wtf balance is such a bop you guys!!! i think i should just accept that i am in the minority about preferring overworld themes of ff14 to boss music. though i think i would still vote tbiytc over most of the ff14 ost anyway. ah, chrono trigger vs katamari damacy. in my opinion, these two are top tier soundtracks in regards to consistently good music. but while katamaritaino is possibly my favourite on the soundtrack, i can think of a chunk of chrono trigger songs i prefer. 3/3 on the vocals, baybe~ ... La Mer
The Best Is Yet To Come Katamaritaino (Roll Me In) La Mer has the benefit of throwing together a whole bunch of ideas I really like. Balance Slays the Demon is pretty cool and I can appreciate what it's going for, but La Mer is just really neat with its sweet bandoneon melody and acoustic chords against that simple but impactful bassline and the vocal harmonies. No strong opinions on the second. Look, Chrono Trigger's theme is awesome but we're also talking Roll Me In, one of my all time favorite VGM ever and one of the coolest songs I've ever heard.
