Im not trolling so pardon my ignorance. Im legit confused. How many actual genders exist? Guy, Girl, Trans-Male and Trans-Female right?

I mean, Pansexual means you are just attracted to anything right? That isnt a gender correct? I mean, we dont consider Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual genders. Actually I think there is a gender that identifies as both right? So that is 5. Those are preferences.

Its the same for Asexual right? Its not a gender. Just a preference right? I just have a hard time understanding everything

You've pretty much got it

And pansexual is an orientation that encapsulates an attraction to people regardless of where on that spectrum they may fall

ibthink pan sexual has no preference but bisexual prefers men or women, I could be wrong because im not 100% sure

I got to know a couple of people who identify as pansexuals in the past couple years.

One (cis-female) said she needs to establish an emotional connection with a person before she experiences a physical attraction. She is also very open about her autism, but she is very high-functioning. She is a very attractive woman, yet she's very unaware of it.

The other (cis-male) seems more like your typical bi-sexual, but he's also open to trans and whatever else under the sun. He doesn't seem to need an emotional connection like the female does, but he also openly confesses to not having much of a sex life. He isn't very attractive, but has a very outgoing personality.

I don't know which of these (or if both) are accurate, but that's my experience with people who have openly identified and opened up to me.

bisexual people might not be attracted to people who identify as neither male nor female. like nonbinary people, intersex people, etc.

If you are attracted to male + female + nonbinary/intersex/whatever else then you're pansexual

plenty of straight, gay, and bi people are attracted to trans and nb people.

there is no real difference between bi and pan. it's simply one term in the process of replacing the other because knowledge was gained. people used to the old term will keep using it, some for a while, some for the rest of their lives. but it will get less and less prevalent over time.

This is a pretty enlightened perspective.

One of my best friends who has always been straight has been in a LTR with a trans woman for almost 5 years now. He still identifies as straight, "just a little gay" and he's still almost exclusively into women as far as physical attributes go.
