I love how the article has to begin with the woman who allegedly held out a banner. It's like, she did. We all have eyes. There's no allegedly about it.

They have to be careful from a legal standpoint. Even if its obvious, to make sure it doesnt read with a bias, they say allegedly since her case is still open.

No, not seriously. I'm making fun of people who want to throw the book at her. She's a fucking moron but I don't think what she did was malicious or that she's a threat to society

Fine her for being an idiot and move on

I mean, intentional or not she actually hurt people. Obviously some people are going overboard but a simple fine is too light.

I suppose there's a possibility they have the wrong person. So it's still an allegation.

She made a dumbfuck mistake and has already been skewered to hell for it, and will be stewing in shame for a long time for this. At this point people should lay off and let the law handle it because this is a life-defining moment that she'll never be able to scrub, and she's already in the thick of it.

At this point, send your hate to Bill Cosby instead, somebody who's getting away with something much more serious

implying that she isn't also currently the world's biggest target of contempt and derision on the entire internet. Honestly the fine is nothing compared to the global shame.

Its not like she did this on purpose, she just did not stand far enough back and was just an excited fan, fine her sure but I dont think jail time should even be talked about. Yes people got hurt but she was just stupid not trying to actually do harm.

Fine her and that is all, no jail time should be given.

I feel like Tour de France is also at fault, it's bizarre to let spectators get that close. At least have some sort of guard that can clear the road when the cyclists are approaching.

Seems pretty silly to me to put someone in a cage because they did something stupid but unintentional that caused minor injuries to others, but okay

So all those people who caused great accidents due to gender reveal parties should have just gotten a fine? they didn't mean to do it.

IDK how feasible that is, they'd have to have tons of guards since the racers are very spread out.

Fences aren't feasible either

They want to make an example of her to discourage others from making this mistake. I think it makes sense.

Don't really see the parallel. I'm not saying people shouldn't be held accountable for accidents, she should be held accountable for this. Jail time just seems unnecessary to me. Fine her and if people want to/can sue her for damaged bikes or whatever then it is what it is. Her sitting in a jail cell isn't exactly putting her in a position to rectify that side of things

If someone were killed or critically injured as a result of this that'd be a different story. If she accidentally burnt down a massive area of forestation it'd be a different story.
