As in, on Sunday, it broke the record.

Monday, it was even hotter.

Yesterday (Tuesday), it was even hotter, again.

New record highest temperature in Canada is 49.5 C (121.1 F). The "old" record was 45 C (113 F).

Heat records aren't supposed to be smashed like this.

Literally the hottest place in North America over the past week. Made Phoenix look like a chilly tundra in comparison.

I'm only a few hours from Lytton. I have to change my pillow case every morning cause its so sweat soaked. Its gross.

I only have ac in my living room. So the bedroom doesn't cool down nearly as much.

Lots of people in Canada do not. It's not supposed to get as hot as Arizona here.

Its places like van and shit that are really hurting even thougg they aren't as hot.

Sunshine Coast here, we had a high of 38c/100f on Monday.

Sunday and Tuesday was 36/97. Today it cooled down to a high of 28/82.

First time since Friday I've had one fan running.

Portland did the same. Broke the all time record day 1 at 108, then day 2 around 113, then finally 116 day 3, which is apparently 10 degrees warmer than Houston has ever been.

Now the village has literally burned down.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-57678054

A wildfire has burned 90% of the village that recorded Canada's highest ever temperature, the local MP says.
Brad Vis said the fire had caused extensive damage to Lytton, in British Columbia, and to surrounding critical infrastructure.
Jan Polderman, mayor of Lytton, told the BBC he had been "lucky to get out with my own life".
"There won't be very much left of Lytton," he said. "There was fire everywhere."

What happened in Lytton?
Residents fled on Wednesday, many without their belongings, as smoke and flame engulfed the village, which is home to about 250 people and located about 260km (162 miles) north-east of Vancouver.
"Within about 15 minutes the whole town was engulfed in flame," Mayor Polderman told the BBC.
"People basically just grabbed their pets, grabbed their keys and got into their car and fled."
