At the end of the day people mostly just want shopping malls and movie theaters and restaurants and businesses. It's all just a smokescreen to justify more tax revenue for spending on what is basically a giant jobs program. The war machine employs so many people that it's basically just a jobs program. Everyone knows any real war would end humanity, and nobody wants that because people just want more movies and more products and more luxury. So at this point, seems like...might as well just be a global type of citizen? Be able to move around, invest everywhere, grow businesses that can scale to global demand, etc. Have skills that are useful to everyone and let them all compete to be the biggest bidder for your time. If there was going to be war over Taiwain, it would have happened by now. It's possible that this entire situation with China is overblown for the ad revenue. Same as with the Trump coverage. No way in hell would any modern government risk introducing too much friction into global politics by clamoring for real war. Any such friction, esp with climate change affecting literally everyone, would just cause a collapse that takes their own power away too. Probably climate change is the only real thing we have to worry about at this point. If there was a legitimate risk of a collapse because of the GOP, the insurrection would've been hundreds of thousands of people with firearms. Nobody actually cares. People just want to spend money and enjoy their lives. Probably CNN is just noticing an emerging market in China and wants to position itself to have more of an international brand or something.
