They used similar-sized structures in both world as the baseline (Temple of Time in BotW and the NLA Church in Xenoblade X).
Granted, much of Xenoblade X's world is water, and you have much faster travel options there, but still.



Where's our Switch port, Nintendo?

I always felt that Xenoblade X was a larger world and this cements it. Of course, traversing it takes about the same amount of time since you move much faster even without the Skell.

Is it too much to ask that a Switch port have a completely different combat system that I don't find intolerable?

Because I otherwise like everything else about the game.

we'll get it eventually. if xenoblade 3 doesn't come out next year, we'll probably get x then. just not both in the same year.

Monolith has said it'll cost too much for XCX port to be worth it. I guess it's not a simple port for some reason.

Another thing to note is that Monolith was just about developing both BOTW and XCX around the same time. Well it was at the tail end of XCX, then they worked on XC2 right after. That's a lot of worlds for 1 company

Map size is not really something I ever care about.

Utilization of what you have is far more important. BOTW felt empty, for example.
