I did try to read it during my brief college time for my Hitler and Nazi Germany class but the book was so dull and boring that I couldn't get through it.

I read about half of it after reading a long WW2 history book. Smart, boring, and a very cynical guy. But in reality, what's more important is that you have to see where he receives his money. Just like any other leader of a country. After reading Mein Kampf you get the sense he was just another lackey. He was a very good speech orienter, and good at organizing people.

I checked my middle school history book and surprisingly it's not even mentioned, but I must have learned about it some other way. I tried reading it on my own to learn more about him. The beginning where he tells about his life story was okay, but then he started a 50 page rant about why social democrats in 1920s Austria/Germany suck and I got bored.

I'm a HS history teacher, I can't even begin to imagine the amount of shit I would catch if I assigned Mein Kampf. I have a very hard time believing he read it in school.

Also side note, isn't this guys argument of "we read Mein Kampf in school" implying that CRT should be introduced so that children are exposed to all types of ideas?

As I mentioned before. It's just a feeling, if you read a few history books. You'll find many times that most ideas of the atrocities that were committed. Are ideas that came from Hitler's subordinates, likes of Goring, Himmler. This isn't to say that Hitler wasn't anti-Semitic. But he was also anti American imperialism, Communism. Hated the Czechs with a passion, as well the polish, and Russians.

Back to the main point. I feel Hitler was an organizer, profiter. If you spend enough time researching, you find that American/European, and asian. Non Jewish, Jewish, Catholic, and or Christian banks. Corporations, anywhere and every where around the world, donated to hitler Germany.

It was a thriving business country building on its war Machine. And still continued to profit within certain sectors well into, and after the second war. You could argue that Hitler made the decisions. But I find that decision are always supported. So who and what were the pillars that supported Hitler?

My sense and take has always been his military organizers and corporate supporters. I mean what is Fascism but a mix of corporate and government?

This is just my take, a feeling after so much reading. Now take a look at today and tell me what you see.

Not a big fan of discussing this stuff. It's like opening a can of worms. I usually prefer to keep it closed, love and let live. But I figure with this topic. And you biting, I'd reel you in a bit before tossing ya back out.

Take it all with a grain of salt. Make your own decisions, deliberate with your own research.

Edit: you can also find a lot of articles on wealthy supporters of the Nazis at that time using Google. The first world war 2 book I read that I read is 'nightmare years william shirer". I think it's a great start for anyone. I own Eisenhower's world war 2 diary, would like to read that. And I'm very interested in getting ahold of some of Rommels books.

Is completely wrong. Hitler's organization is only slightly worse than Trump. Remember when Trump pushed off all his responsibility to other people? Like when he made Pence supervise COVID-19 or made Kushner do basically everything? Hitler was like that x10000. The Holocaust happened because Hitler ordered people to perform "Ethnic Cleansing" he left it up to his subordinates to figure out what that meant.

Some people interpreted it as "deport Jews" others interpreted it as "make Jews dig a giant ditch on the highway and then shoot them and push them in"

One type of interpretation got better rewards than the other and you can see how things would escalate from there. So no, Hitler didn't come up with those ideas, but he approved of them massively and encouraged further extreme ideas.
